Saturday Haul - Bristol shopping :)

Hello hello bloggers! Now, I dont know if anyone will end up reading this, but im going to blog anyways!

Today I popped (for 5 hours..) to Bristol with Mumsie, as she needed a top to go with her dress she's wearing to a wedding next week, so being the good daughter, I went along to help (and nosey around the shops, hehe!) I think we literally went in every shop, as she is verrrry indecisive!! But anyhoo, heres what I came back with :D

Coral Ruffle Cami - A-Wear, £20
I have a real thing about coral things at the mo, I fell in love with a dress in Coast for £125, the exact same colour, but sadly, I dont need it.. :(

Over the knee socks, Left, Primark, £1.50, Middle and Right, Newlook, £2 (sale!)

I hate being cold, so over the knee socks are my essentials for the winter - and now it seems the right time of year to replace my tired looking pairs, as they are so cheap! The Newlook socks have little silver spots on, so cute!

Shoes, for work, Primark £4
Nailfiles with a handy case, (not pictured as its in my bag!) £1 - saves scratching stuff in your handbags!
White basic boobtube, Newlook, £4

And for my FAVE piece of the day..... Ruby bag (a new (?) collection in Newlook)
£35
I heart it so much!!

The tassle-ly thingies on the zips have a coral coloured Ruby stud in, and inside it has a gold ribbed material. It feels such good quality, and it came in a range of colours too. Inside it came with the drawstring bag (pictured).

I also ventured into Debenhams, lured by the Urban Decay & MAC counters in the window - Im a UD and MAC virgin, so I thought Id have a quick nose to see what products they had - And oh my, they were BUSY! There were so many girls having their make up done/milling around - there seemed such a buzz! I didnt stay long as Mumsie was looking abit bored, im thinking I might have to indulge.... :)

Anyhoo, that was my day, if anybody does read, Thankyou! :)

Mascara - Tesco vs Rimmel

Hi there bloggers!

Seeing as i've been super busy at work, I didnt have time to actually have a go at this blogging business - now I have 2 whole weeks off (*bliss*) I thought id have a go at blogging all the ideas that have been milling around in my mind! So here goes.....

Mascara
Admittedly, im a serial mascara hopper - I dont tend to stay put with one brand - I like to mooch around Superdrug or Boots, see whats about or whats on offer, and take it from there. I also dont tend to spend more than £10 (is tis a bad thing?) So recently, I ended up buying two:

After browsing in superdrug for a while I chose Rimmel Max Volume Flash - in Ultra Black 003, and later that week, whilst mooching down the toiletries ailse I spotted this lurking on the shelf (our tesco doesnt sell makeup, tis too small!) - a Tesco own brand (I presume) All About Face mascara in black (there arent any specific details on it at all?).

All About Face, Black - £1.50
Rimmel Volume Flash, Ultra Black 003 - £5.99 (ish, forgive me i forget the exact price!)

Now, I would have loved to have said that the AAF mascara worked wonders, but sadly....no. It doesnt glide on very well, it makes my eyelashes clump together, and you can definately tell it was cheap! Now im stuck with a full mascara :( (i did give it a few goes, but alas, I cannot get on with it.) It also seems a bit weak and watery if that makes sense?

The Rimmel mascara - I love it! It glides on, without clumping, gives great volume, and can be used for either a day or night look. If i wear it in the day I tend to use 1 layer, or 2 for a darker, more dramatic look. I also quite shamelessly love the pink packaging!

So sadly, it does seem in this instace that you do get what you pay for - it is a shame as I wanted to have a 'wow' moment with the AAF product!

Has anyone else tried Tesco products/other supermarket own brand mascaras?

Thanks for reading, Daisy xx
