* MAC Lovelorn - My new love! *

Hi bloggers! I hope you had a fab Christmas!
Today I shall be sharing my newset MAC purchase - Lovelorn!

It is a lustre finish (sheer and glossy), and for me, its the perfect girlie pink which can be worn in the day or layered at night!
My other MAC's are frost finishes, so I wanted something with a bit more shine to it, and this does the job just nicely!

I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking....

Has anyone else got Lovelorn - does it work for you?

Its beginning to look alot like Christmas...

Hi lovelies!
I just wanted to share some winter pics i'd taken over the past few days :)

This was after our first covering of snow, there's now twice as much!! The blue skies have also been replaced by a constant greyness.

And a few to finish, ones from Weheartit that made me smile :)

* Birthday Buys & Gifts *

Aloha Ladies!

In this post i'll be sharing my birthday gifts and buys, so forgive the amount of photos! I think I got more girly things for my birthday as for Christmas my main present will be a fridge haha! If you follow me on twitter then you might have seen that im in the process of buying a house, and unfortunately a fridge is definately needed more than clothes/a camera etc! I did manage to get a pair of grey boots under the tree mind ;)

Anyhoo, onto the goodies!

Accessorize Earrings
These earrings are lovely and were a gift, so i'm unsure of the price. The leaves move slightly and are not fixed which is a nice touch. They are my current faves and go with most outfits!

 Kiss Nail Art - Superdrug
These stickers and gems came from Superdrug & are to help my quest in improving my nail art!
I believe they are around £2.99? The gems and flowers come in a range of sizes, with some individual petals too. The larger flowers have a tiny little diamante in the middle too!
They stick onto your nail easily ready for a topcoat to seal them with, although i'm guessing the gems will need a touch of nail glue to ensure they stick!

Newlook Herringbone Tights - £5.99
I LOVE these snuggly grey tights! They are so warm and cosy that I bought a couple of pairs! I also love the colour - they are a great alternative to the usual black leggings or tights that I usually adorn! I do tend to layer them over a black pair of tights to keep me warm in all this snow mind!!

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat- £6.50 - Ebay (bought with b-day moola!)
I wont say much on this one as most bloggers have covered it! I will say that its amazing, and how did I not live with this before?!

Slippers - £16.99 - Republic

These slippers are so cute and snuggly! The perfect pair of slipper boots for me (bought by the boy, bless him!) They are fluffy inside too which keep your tosies nice and warm! I love the bow and silver heart charm on the sides too!

And, last but not least:

Brown boots - Barratts - £40
These beauties were from my Dad, and I love them!
I think I have a boot problem, and ive got so many pairs! I havent got a brown pair with a small heel though so its ok ;) They look good either dressed up or down, and the heel's a nice size so it doesnt hurt you if youre wearing them all day!

They were £40, but I popped into Barratts yesterday and they were sitting on the shelves grinning at me with a £25 price tag!! How dare they! I might not mention that to Daddio mind..!

So thats most of my goodies, some others I am sharing in other blog posts as I think they deserve their own!

Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading if you made it this far hehe!

* Virgin Vie Quad - In the Buff *

Afternoon Bloggers!

This is a little review of the Virgin Vie Ready to Wear 'In the Buff' eyeshadow collection, bought for me by my lovely friend! I was quite intrigued as I personally havent seen many posts on this brand.

Its a lovely collection of neutrals, with highlight, shade, contour and define colours. They are nicely pigmented, and the quad comes with a little guide on how to apply the colours, which is fab for people who havent experimented with creating a smokey look before. It also comes in a little box, perfect for a present!

Here's a little more of a closeup for you!

These swatches are without primer (my primer (when I wrote this post) was currently wrapped and under the Chrstmas tree!) They arent heavily swatched & can go darker, so they are pretty buildable for a daytime of evening look.

I personally havent tried Virgin Vie products & havent been to a party, but i'm now quite tempted! I wore this on a night out and was very impressed with the results! Unfortunately my camera is crap and the photos of me dont show it that well! I didnt have time to take a closeup sadly :(

The quads retail at £10, and come in 4 colours - you can see them here if you like!

I also recieved the Naked Pallette for Christmas, so I might do a little comparison :)

Has anyone else tried these or any other Virgin Vie products?

* Models Own Glitter Polish Collection *

Good Evening Ladies!

I hope everyone is feeling decidedly festive and snowy!

I will be doing a series of posts (hopefully - its gonna be a tad busy around here soon with the family descending on us!) featuring items ive received for my birthday!

First up - the Models Own Glitter Polish Collection.

 *Left - Right *

* Disco Mix, Magenta Divine, Emerald City, Juicy Jules, Scarlet Sparkle, Mixed Up *

This set features 6 amazingly glittery shades, perfect for the party season.
It is priced at £20, which is a bargain seeing as 1 polish retails for £5!

Click here to see the Models Own collections on their website.

The colours are as follows:
Disco Mix - Pink and Blue Glitter
Juicy Jules - Silver and Multicoloured Holograph coloured style glitter
Emerald City - Emerald Green glitter
Magenta Divine - Pink Glitter
Scarlet Sparkle - Red glitter in a red polish
Mixed Up - Black and multicoloured glitter

Here are a few festively snowy swatches for you! I couldnt resist going out in the snow! All pictures are 3 quick coats of polish.

* Disco Mix *

*Juicy Jules, Emerald City, Magenta Divine *

* Scarlet Sparkle *

* Mixed Up*
This isnt the best swatch, the glitter is multicoloured in real life!

All of the polishes apart from Scarlet Sparkle (red) are pure glitter in a clear polish, whereas the red glitter is in a red coloured polish. They are quick and easy to apply and dry relatively quickly, although I tend to finish mine off with a coat of Seche Vite. They also have good staying power, and have even with standed the wrapping of many presents - this usually wrecks my nail polish!

The only down side I can think of is the removal - be patient and allow alot of time - this stuff doesnt come off easily!!

Here are a few close ups of the bottles themselves.

Have you tried any of these polishes or any other Models Own sets?
I am loving the glitter for this festive season - are you?

* Superdrug Saturday Goodies! Accessorize & Collection 2000 *

Hi Girlies!

Yesterday I had to pop into town for a few bits and bobs, and to celebrate getting a full pay slip rather than half a month (I started my new job mid way through, only technically working 2 weeks in October), I decided to indulge in the Superdrug 3 for 2 offer! If you have been under a rock and havent heard about this, you can mix and match across ALL brands - how good is that!

Our teeny tiny store, miraculously, stocks Accessorize makeup! I think its replaced the mini Bourjois stand?

These are the goodies I picked up:

Accessorize Merged Eyeshadow in Cocoa, £4.50

How pretty is this colour?! I love it!
Its a browny, mauve, purply mix up. I had to have it the second I swatched it!

Next up, Collection 2000 Extreme 24hour Felt Tip Liner, £2.99, Teal.

I had swatched these in store before, but due to No-Spend-November (Which, incidentally, I broke due to being paid :) ) I did not indulge. I felt 3 for 2 was the perfect excuse!

And, last but not least, Accessorize Illusion Nail Polish.
Purple Passion - £4.00

This is the most gorgeous glittery purple - its FULL of glitter, which is always a winner in my books!
This was in a little section away from the other polishes - part of the Illusion range - a collection of glittery lovelies! I shall feature this in a nails of the weekend post soon :)

At the tills, I also picked up this Mini Nail Polish remover - only 79p!
This is a perfect size for travelling and weekends away! Here it is in a couple of pictures so you can see the size!

(Please excuse crap 2nd attempt at nail art and swatches on my finger!)

Has anyone else indulged in the 3 for 2 this week?

* On another note, i'd like to say THANKYOU to my 100 followers! I cant believe theres 1 let alone 100 that follow my little old blog! There maybe a little giveaway in the pipeline, but only a small one as im still skint and have Christmas pressies to buy! It may feature a certain brand that begins with an M? *

NOTW * Nails Inc & an attempt at nail art!

Hi Snowangels!

I do hope youre enjoying the snow as much as I am! Although, from twitter, there seems to be a mixed reaction haha!

I thought I would show you my Nails of the Weekend today! And also my very teeny tiny attempt at nail art (I say nail art, in fact, itys ome dots on my nails, but weve all gotta start somewhere hehe!)

I started off with my Nails Inc Jermyn Street, which im sure most of you have courtesy of Glamour!

I then used some George nail polish in  Mocca Ice to add a sprinkling of gold dots to the corner of each nail!
My novice attempt seemed to come out ok! I even got some compliments on them! :)

I am in awe of bloggers who can do proper nail art (One who springs to mind is Dottie K, check out her leopard print nails on her blog! And also Sophie-Lou-J - shes fab as well! See her blog here!) I dont have a steady left hand, and ALWAYS mess up! Im thinking of investing in a Models Own nail art pen to see if that helps!

Do you attempt nail art? Do you have any tips I can use to make my paltry attempts better?!

30 Things I want to do tag :)

Afternoon Lovelies!

Seeing as im tucked up in bed (STILL) all germy and yukky and tonsilly, I thought i'd entertain myself with a Tag I found whilst reading the Christina Marie Says.. blog!

All you have to do is list down 30 things you'd like to wish for, however big or small - I love reading these type of things! Some are more worthwhile things id like to do, ie about life, family, whereas others are about makeup and clothes, haha! So please dont judge ;)

So here goes, here are my 30 little self indulgent wishes! I would like to...

1: Complete the sale of the house were trying to buy - weve been plagued with bad luck so far :(

2: Make a snowman again this winter - I love love love the snow!! And by this I mean proper snow, not the poncey sprinkle of dust. I want big, thick, fluffy, casues chaos snow!! hehe!

3: Visit New York - properly! Ive stopped at Newark, NJ and saw NY in the hazy evening distance, but i'd love to visit there next!

4: Book our wedding date! Although the house needs to come first :( We want to go to Mexico! Hot hot!!

5: Reach 100 followers by my birthday! Which is coming up rather quickly, oh my!

6:  Go to Glastobury Fest! Ive been to Reading before, next is Glasto!

7: Own some glittery nail polish, e.g. Models Own or Nails Inc! (These are on the Christmas/Birthday List!!)

8: Go Christmas Shopping In London! I love the shops, the lights, the magical feel...sigh!

9: Develop an ability to keep my room tidy.

10: Someday, own a walk in closet, where my clothes will not be squished together, therefore not needing an iron before every wear!

11: Have clear skin! Although Clinique is helping me along :)

12: Finish my Jill Mansell book collection! (Geek, I know! haha)

13: Meet Marian Keyes the authour - I love her! I own every single one of her books!

15: Finish a lipstick or ligloss - I dont think I ever have!

16: Have my family home from America for good - my big sis, brother in law and nephews (not just for Christmas, I miss them too much :( )

17: Get my own cat when I move out - im not allowed to take our two family cats!

18 Specifically, get a Snowshoe Cat! Check out this post from The Roxy Loves to see what one looks like! George the kitten is so lush!

19: Buy either the UD Naked Palette or Start a MAC pallette!

20: Buy a one shoulder dress from either Newlook or Topshop!

21: Visit the Maldives - Oh my word it looks AMAZING! A private cabin, on the end of  a jetty, clear blue seas? YES please.

22: Dye my hair brown - ive been blonde for about 8 years!!

23: Be hospital free - ive not had a 'hospital visit free' year EVER! I just want to be ok! The latest is down to eardrum problems related to my other condition..fun stuff!

24: Learn to make a good curry or chinese meal! Ive got the recepie books, I just cannot be bothered to cook it, haha!

25: Purchase some more MAC lippies - I feel like I need more in my life!

26: Find a miracle nail polish that does not chip!! No matter what I do, it chips. Annoying, no?

27: Pluck up the courage to tell my boy about my blog ;)

28: Buy some Aussie hair products - Ive tried the 3 minuit mircale and it smells lush! I want more!

29: Go on a shopping spree for, ahem, myself, in Lush! I want so much stuff from there! Plus my bathroom would smell AMAZE. Thats a good enough reason, yes?

30: Have an immune system boost! I get ill ALL the time. And I hate the doctors, they get everything wrong, it always takes two trips to get something sorted. Mini rant over, ha!

Feel free to do this, im aware this is quite long, so apologies there! Let me know if youve done it on your blog :)

This picture totally made me smile! I found it when I looked for "Wish" on weheartit!

Lots of germy love, Daisy x

MAC Wintersky - Blogsale Purchase!

Aloha Ladies!

Im tucked up at home in my pjs thanks to tonsilitus and an ear infection, so I thought i'd write a blog post with the pics of my newest purchase that have been lurking on my laptop for a while!

This afternoon im sharing my latest blog sale purchase from a couple of weeks ago (It was in October, so No-Spend-November as mentioned in the previous post was not affected! ;) )

This lovely little chap is Wintersky - a MAC velux pearl eyeshadow from the Chill Collection from a while ago. Isnt it lovely! Its also my very first MAC shadow! :D

I dont normally wear pinks, but this I somehow couldnt resist!

From the picture above, you can see that the colour is less pigmented on skin than in the pan, which is what attracted me to this colour - its buildable and gives a lovely shimmery frost look (It is a teeny bit pinker in real life though, silly camera!) It has also convinced me to step away from my usual taupe and browny colours!

I hope you like my newest addition! Has anyone else got this colour?

NOTD! Sleek Oxford Nailed Polish.

Hi Bloggers!

Ive been such a bad blogger recently! This is mainly down to a few things!

1- Work work work - working with children with special needs is quite tiring - my class are quiet young, and therefore lively, making me a sleepy girl by the time ive got home!

2- Trying to buy a house - Ive spent more time researching new things for a house rather than blogging! (if the flipping sellers decide to accept our offer! Gahh!)

3- Embarking on a No-Spend-November - im skint and have Christmas to pay for soon! (Plus a potential mortage!) I have been very good this month and only bought Glamour for the Nails Inc!

So, seeing as I havent got anything new to share, I thought id revisit some of my nailpolish collection!

Last weekend, it was the turn of Sleek's Oxford polish - a metallic navy blue.

I remembered only wearing it once before, so I felt it ought to come out and convince me it was worthy of being worn again.
This is one coat on the nails with a topcoat- I painted them Friday night, and these pics were taken Saturday morning.

The colour is quite nice, and strong for only one coat. The downside is that it chipped really badly, even with a topcoat, reminding me why it had been banished to the back of my collection (If you look closly the chips are appear in the pictures after an evenings wear!). Its also a nightmare to get off!!

Has anyone found any negatives with Sleek nailpolish as well? Its definately put me off purchasing any others from their range!

I seem to have aquired a few new Nail Polishes recently, so I thought i'd share them with you!

Left to Right

Which are your faves?
Do you have a developing nail polish problem like me?! Make me feel better about myself by admitting it ;)
