Current Highstreet Wants!

Evening ladies, just thought i'd share a few of my current wants from Newlook and Republic at the moment, a couple of my favourite stores. Are you fans of these? I generally always find something I like here, and the prices are affordable.
I love this style of dress, and there are a few various designs too! I also need some wedges in my life! Although im fairly tall, I feel these arent too bad height wise! And i'm also addicted to flip flops - I live in them! A nice neutral tan pair will go with many a summer outfit.

Republic's prints have got me this time - the butterfly dress is nice and light, and would look fab with some leggings and flip flops. Im lusting after a denim jacket too, to accompany my beloved black maxi dress which I bought last year. The swallow print tops are lovely too - pretty and summery, and can be worn in the day or at a summer evening in the pub garden, with a cardi slug over the top. The earrings would be a perfect accompaniment to a summery outfit too.

Are you liking or loathing any of these items? I'd love to know your opinions!

My First MAC MSF!

Hi bloggers, I hope you've all had a lovely Royal Wedding-filled day!
I recently purchased my first MAC Mineralise Skin Finish from a blog sale - Triple Fusion. I believe its from a past collection, Colour Craft. Please correct me if im wrong!

MAC described the colours as rose pink (top), soft golden pink (middle) and soft champagne gold at the bottom.

Ive swatched each colour separately here, but I tend to blend the pinks, with just a hint of the golden colour for a subtle evening glow. It gives a lovely shimmer and highlight without being too overpowering.
I am now lusting over the mineralize in Dainty! (along with a few new lippies!) I am off to London soon to see a friend so I may just have to make a little visit to a MAC store!

Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your Friday!

A little late on the Dusky Mauve bandwagon..

Hi lovelies :)

Ok, ok, I admit I am a tad late on the Dusky Mauve bandwagon for this one - I did initially want this when the hype surrounding its similarity for Chanel's Paradoxal was doing its rounds on the blogs, but my local Superdrug never stocked it!

Recently I decided now was the time for me to add this to my collection, and luckily Kim came to the rescue and kindly sent me hers!

Its a browny, taupe colour with a hint of purple sparkle (which admittedly is more evident in the sunlight and in the bottle). I like this colour the more I look at it, but admittedly I think it may have to sit in my nail polish box for a while, and make way for my more summery shades!

I teamed it with Gosh Magic Star on 1 finger, which you can see here. (yes there is a smudge, shh)
It was really difficult to photograph, so apologies if they arent the best photos (Ive taken it off since taking these pics!)

Are you a fan of this shade? Are your taupes being banished for the spring/summer season?

* Paperchase Storage *

Morning ladies! Just a quick post today to show you my new Paperchase storage!

Recently a Paperchase opened in my local shopping centre - The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, Bristol. After seeing various posts featuring paperchase storage, I had to go have a nosey, and came out with these two lovelies :)

First up, the Pink Butterfly Letter Tray - £8.95

This is so girly! Im going to use it to store my eyeshadow pallettes and bronzers.

Next up, Damask Pen Pot, £6.00.

I am intending on using this to store my brushes, as they are mixed up with my lip glosses at the moment! There were plenty of different designs, including a matching pink butterly print which would match the letter rack pallette storage that I bought, but I wanted a contrast in colour and pattern.

I thought the prices are very reasonable, and the products seem like they are made well. I will show you what they look like in use when we move in, along with my WH Smith Cupcake Storage Box that I have blogged about before!

Paperchase are having a little sale at the moment, it does feature some cute notebooks, and some storage ideas from the Vintage Rose Collection

Vintage Rose Stationary Box, £4.50.

Does anyone else have any Paperchase storage? Let me know, i'd love to see some blog posts about it!

Clinique buys and a fab freebie!

Aloha lovelies! I hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine this week!

A few weeks ago, I needed a top of of a couple of Clinique products that I regularly use...

Clinique Superbalanced Foundation, & Clarifying Lotion.

Yes, I know I said I didnt want to keep buying Clinique foundation, but I couldnt resist!
Boots had an offer at the time, where if you bought 2 or more selected items, you received a free gift. Clinique? Free Gift? I was hooked! Off I trotted to Boots (twice I might add, they were out of stock of the foundation in the shade I use - Alabaster). The sales assistant popped this little gem into my bag..

A tin FULL of useful goodies! And in decent sizes too! Im going to use the tin to store cotton wool balls etc.

You recieved Youth Surge moisturiser with SPF 15, dramatically different moisturising lotion & liquid facial soap..

A mini High Impact mascara (Ive got quite a collection of these now thanks to the Glamour freebies and the mascara swap that Clinique have run in the past!)

A teeny brush, which is ok... I doubt i'll use this.

A superbalm gloss in shade Apricot.

And finally, an eyeshadow quad, which initially I was excited about!

The colours seemed right up my street, but sadly arent as pigmented as id hoped. I tried wearing them over UDPP, but alas, still not as good as i'd hoped. I may have to pay around with them a bit more. You can see the swatches below arent amazing unfortunately.. Has anyone else found this with Clinique eyeshadow?

Unfortunately this offer has now ended, but the current Boots offer isnt bad - you can recieve 750 Boots Points when you buy 3 or more selected Boots Products. Are any of you Clinique Fans? Ive seen mixed opinions on this brand!

NOTD ~ OPI My Private Jet

Hi ladies, I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend? I just thought I would show you my newest member of my OPI collection - My Private Jet.

I purchased this from Vivianna's blog sale a while ago and I am sooo pleased with it! I had seen mixed reviews of this polish - some who loved it, some who didnt. I love how it looks different in various lights - in the bottle you can see the brown-ish, grey-ish shimmer, and on the nails the tiny glints and shimmer is really evident.

I had never been one for wearing black/dark shades, but this is the perfect shade to change my mind! It doesnt look too severe, due to the shimmer and its grey-black colour. Its perfect for nights out, and a perfect companion to many an outfit!

Does anyone else own this beauty - do you love it or does it not float your boat?

All that glitters...

Morning ladies!
I was a bit naughty a few weeks ago (this is a bit of a belated post) and bought myself a new nail polish, although I did not really need it!It was half price, so it doesnt techincally count does it?!

It was the glitterific Gosh Magic Star.

If girlie sparkles are your thing, this will be perfect for you! I love the subtle shimmer it provides, and im hoping it will look fab over another nailpolish. Apologies for the lack of pictures of this on my nails, but they look pretty horrific at the moment after all this decorating!

Gosh nailpolish retails at £5 from Superdrug. Its the first Gosh polish ive tried - does anyone have any recommendations for any summery colours?

* ELF Brush Collection *

Hi there girlies! And hello new readers - *waves*

Apologies for the lack of posts (and thaks for clicking follow even though I havent posted for a while!!) - the house is coming along well - many 12 hour days renovating is paying off - were at the painting stage now, 90% of the kitchen is in, carpets are coming Friday, and Sofa Monday. Exciting! Anyways, enough waffle, I thought i'd squeeze in a blog post that had been lurking unfinished in my drafts for a while!

Today I thought i'd show you my ELF brush collection, as I recently ordered a few newbies.

I ordered the Eyeshadow brush, defining eye brush, Eye crease brush, Concealer brush and the bronzing brush. All brushes were a bargainous £1.50!

I already had the blending eye brush and the smudging eye sponge - numbers 4 and 7 in the picture below.

E.L.F state: "All e.l.f. professional makeup brushes have been designed and tested by professional makeup artist Scott Vincent Borba." Which suggests that they should be pretty good if they have been tried by a makeupartist, non?

My thoughts:

*1: Defining eye brush: This seems pretty good and pretty solid, allowing definition under the eyes, which I like - 4/5

*2: Blush/Bronzing brush - This is a little small for my liking, i'd imagained it too be a bit bigger. It is soft and fluffy, but could have been a bit more 'sturdy' if you get my meaning! A little disappointed with this one. 2/5

*3: Concealer brush - the bristles fell out of this after the first use which was disappointing (But ELF did send me a new one which I am yet to try). I am happy with the actual brush though, its easy to use and covers blemishes easily. 3/5

*4: Blending eye brush - this is nice and fluffy, and pretty much does what its name suggests! 4/5

*5: Eye crease brush -  this seemed pretty good until I discovered it had a hard centre, like it had dried glue in the bristles, humm. This was the one I was most looking forward to using - shame really! 1/5.

*6: Eyeshadow Brush - This is thick and fluffy and i'd say about average. I have another eyeshadow brush form Superdrug (The QVS brand) and this is slimmer and sleeker, and I think I prefer this one sadly. 3/5.

*7: Smudging eye sponge - this one I dont tend to use this one that often, but its nice and sturdy, and seems perfect for its job!

Overall, Im pretty happy with my set, but am keen to try out the Studio range, which retail at a reasonable £3.50 per brush. Twitter ladies have informed me that they are good - when I have some spare pennies, I shall start investing :) Obviously, the dream is a MAC collection, but at £10+ per brush, I simply cannot afford it!
What are your thoughts on the £1.50 brushes - are you a fan?
Thanks for reading, xx
